Beginner Band

Beginner Band has made great progress this year! Daily practice is still needed; the music and technical requirements will continue. A beautiful tone is the main concern; holding out a great sounding long note should be a part of the practice routine. Students have a new book and accompanying CDs. Students should be playing along with the CD daily. Students are encouraged to work ahead in the book!

Grade 6 Advanced Band

Advanced Band is working on the first 5 pages of the Standard of Excellence Blue book. Listen to your child play with the CD and see how they are progressing. The scale project is ongoing, and they should be working on the next few assigned scales. Both scales and the solo project should be accompanied by SmartMusic; students should feel comfortable with this program and already be submitting assignments into teachers.

Concert Band

Concert Band is working on the first 5 pages of Essential Elements Book 2 - listen to your child play with the CD and see how they are progressing. The scale project is ongoing, and they should be working on the next few assigned scales. Both scales (due May 12) and the solo project (due Mar. 31) should be accompanied by SmartMusic; students should feel comfortable with this program and already be submitting assignments into teachers.

Symphonic Band
