When to go: Of all the times, March to August is by far the best time to go because the weather is great, its not too hot, and the sea is great. Christmas time can get unbearably hot.

Attractions
Port Louis is a nice town to visit. It is bustling with life, shops, culture and restaurants. There are also markets and Museums there too. Le Caudan Waterfront is a nice place to go. It is filled with restaurants, bars, shops, and even has a casino there too. But the biggest attraction is the sea. Its beautiful clear waters teaming with marine life is a heaven for snorkel, swimmers and divers alike.

Mauritius ethnic background is made up of French, African, British and Indian groups. The official language there is English but French is also spoken here. The 3 biggest religions here are Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism.
Brief history
Europeans first discovered Mauritius in 1498 by Portugal. Before then Arab traders had known of the place but never actually settled there. The Dutch were the first to settle here in 1598. Then the French in 1715. Then in 1814, the British finally took over. Mauritius gained independence from England in 1968 and has remained free ever since as a Republic.
