Allocations Results:  The Booster Club allocated more than $600,000 in 2011-12. The money will go to all four divisions to enhance and enrich the experience of students. Funds were allocated to items rangnig from clothing items for the Middle School Bands and Choirs to Swim Suit spinners for the boys and girls locker-rooms at the Tai Tam campus pool to a wardrobe storage unit for the High School's Hong Kong Dancers, to video equipment for Upper Primary. The Booster Club could not do what it does without the support of HKIS parents, who volunteer in the Dragon Shop, bake for events like Upper Primary Pink Day, patronize the Dragon Shop and  attend the Sports Banquets.   Booster Club Mission: The HKIS Booster Club is a non-profit parent volunteer organization that is in the business of spreading Dragon Spirit.  We do this by hosting monthly spirit activities in the Middle and High School and special events in the Upper and Lower Primary school,  by organizing and hosting Sports Banquets that celebrate our Middle and High School athletes, by helping with hospitality for tournaments—both athletic and academic—and arts events like choir festivals,  and through our Allocations Process in which we give all profits generated by our operation of the Dragon Shop to HKIS clubs, groups, organizations, divisions and departments who meet our funding guidelines.

During the 2010-11 school year, we allocated a record $778,723 among the four school divisions. Because Spirit is not confined to the athletic fields or the gyms, we not only funded items like new scoreboards for the High School gym, we also funded music books for Middle School Voices and Dragon’s Call, amplifiers for Middle School Jazz band, as well as a Lower Primary art banner and Green Club. Thank you to all our Dragon Shop volunteers – without their hard work we would not be able to do what we do. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to bake cookies, toss candy, pop popcorn or step into the “Torch” suit.  We encourage all parents to volunteer, it is great fun and it really does make a difference.
